Fly Fishing in Cottonwood Creek for Cutthroat Trout

Fly Fishing in Cottonwood Creek for Cutthroat Trout

About 90 minutes drive on gravel roads from Jackson Hole, Wyoming I was privileged to experience a day’s guided, exclusive backcountry fly-fishing trip with a local outfitter called ‘Fish The Fly,’ with their senior guide Tim Smith. After a mile’s walk I waded into the creek seeking native Snake River cutthroat trout and Yellowstone cutthroat trout. In the first bend in the creek I hooked a fish and so it went on for two hours with anything from 10in battlers to my largest 15in beautiful specimen. If you want to fish where you can bump into black bear, elk, mule deer and nobody else – these guys are the best outfitters to go with. Go to: www.fishthefly.com
