Walk Melbourne is one of the city’s most edible walking tour experiences. The tours designed by Monique Bayer, explore the laneways digging out the best rooftop bars and bars in general, coffee and dumpling houses and quirky to fine dining eateries.
Monique’s tours appeal to those who love to explore and uncover new venues. She combines our favourite things to do, eating, drinking, walking, storytelling and meeting local characters from all walks of life.
Monique weaves in historic information along the way at different points of interest, she explains who Madame Brussels actually was and serves up the rich fabric of Melbourne’s Italian and Chinese immigrant history that helped to flavour Melbourne’s fabulous food.
Walk Melbourne offers private progressive dinners where you can enjoy a different course at a different venue, whether its Americana diners offering dude food or the original Italian classics. For fans of the show Offspring Monique has specifically designed an Offspring Fan Walk. If something else takes your fancy why not ask Monique to design a tour to suit your palette.
Whether you join a public walking tour or organise a private one for your friends or colleagues, you will eat, walk and love every piece of Walk Melbourne. Tours allow you walk for 1 hour and eat and drink for 2.

Melbourne is obsessed with coffee. This 3 hour walking tour takes you to places that really care about the origin, roast and brewing of the bean. It’s a great way for the home coffee enthusiast to explore espresso and a range of other brewing methods while drinking some great coffee along the way.
This tour is a mix up depending on taste.
Rooftop Bars Walk
One of the best ways to enjoy Melbourne is on a rooftop. On this walk you will climb onto Melbourne’s rooftop bar scene surveying the city’s top spots whilst enjoying your favourite drink. Many of the rooftop venues are hidden from view of the street and each one has a different vibe. Between stops, take in the laneways and the street art of Melbourne. Enjoy 4 drinks at 4 venues over 3 hours, each with its own style.
Many of the bars are hidden from the street; you enter via secret doors, elevators and staircases and have to know where they are located. It’s even a chance for locals to discover new places.
Your guide has curated the tour so that you get a different type of experience at each place. One stop is steeped in local history. Another is situated at the top of a ‘vertical laneway’ and attracts a hip indie set. A third features elegant decor and atmosphere. The final one boasts a stunning terrace with a sordid tale in its past. All of the venues have great views and are perfect to enjoy the evening twilight.
Expect to walk just over 2km over 3 hours, with much of the time spent at the bars. Take in some of Melbourne’s famous street art and laneways as you stroll between stops. Your guide orders a special featured drink at each bar. If you prefer mocktails, just let your guide know. Food is not included but the bars have a range of burger and tapas snacks.
The Melbourne Experience
Melbourne is a mecca for food with an eating culture bordering on the obsessive. This 3 hour walking tour lets you experience the best examples of what Melbourne offers. Drink coffee, eat dumplings, sneak in a chocolate treat and finish it off with rooftop drink.
