“Sin & Tonic” – Cabaret with a Twist

Sin & TonicAfter three decades of serving up their unique brand of ‘Thrillertainment’, Dracula’s Cabaret on the Gold Coast is taking a gamble and throwing the black dice again… and it’s landing straight sixes!

Dracula’s is tearing away the family friendly bubble-wrap to reclaim the adult cabaret and dining market on the Gold Coast. The new show Sin & Tonic shakes off the shackles of political correctness and instead offers up a sizzling night of vampire themed burlesque, thrilling aerial circus and unrestrained comic insanity. It is an 18+ ‘Spanktacular’ adult dinner cabaret and is not suitable for children.

Dracula’s new evening format is similar to that of post-war Berlin theatre. The entertainment is sliced up into smaller bite-sized clusters of daring variety acts and is broken up with live jazz, mad waiters and a DJ that literally flies around the theatre. Sizzling whip-tease and sexy burlesque will have your heart-beat racing, while circus carnival acts take the entertainment from the stage and suspend it above the audience. The effect is gob smacking!

Show Director Haydie Newman sets the scene: “Our new show is a direct response to people craving edgy adult entertainment, which is why touring burlesque shows are all the rage right now. Believe me… this show literally leaps off the stage and into the laps of our audience. It’s loud, it’s fast-paced and it’s not for kiddies.”

Dracula’s producers are returning to their wild and unpredictable roots that cemented them as the most successful cabaret venue in the country in the early 80s. The new production Sin & Tonic, which opens June 4th, is a swizzling mix of brief stage bites, brought to life with a 70s soft-porn inspired soundtrack, presented with professionalism and flair. Comedy duo Rudi Testa and Richard Macionis make a highly-requested return to the stage, along with sensational aerial contortionist Megan Barry-Cotter, who performs to the riffs of insane Japanese guitarist Dave ‘Kamikaze’ Kume. Feature percussionist Shea Smith adds the beats and stunning cabaret performers Christine Ibrahim and Danielle Casson belt out the tunes and sensational dance moves.

With the new cabaret format, drinks service during the show and a highly acclaimed dining experience, Sin & Tonic may be just the Molotov cocktail you’re looking for.
