Singapore Airlines Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Mr Tan Kai Ping said “We are pleased to partner with Eurowings to offer additional connectivity between Singapore and Europe. It is in line with our commitment to expand our network reach and offer customers more options to meet their travel need.”
Oliver Wagner, managing director of Eurowings said: “We are very pleased that one of the most renowned airlines in the world has selected Eurowings as a partner for close cooperation on our routes to Düsseldorf, Munich, Zurich and Manchester. In the interests of customer friendliness, both partners will benefit from the new cooperation: our joint passengers will be looking forward to a European travel experience with Eurowings and a long-distance journey with Singapore Airlines, setting standards in their respective environment.”
Singapore Airlines General Manager New Zealand, Simon Turcotte said the codeshare agreement would further add to some of the best onward connections for New Zealanders travelling through Singapore’s world famous Changi Airport.
“Europe is a popular destination for both business and leisure travel and network connectivity throughout the region is key for our Kiwi customers,” Mr Turcotte said.
“In July last year we added Dusseldorf to our global network with three flights a week from Singapore on our latest aircraft, the Airbus A350-900.
“This flight is proving to be popular with our New Zealand customers due to the convenient connections it provides to more than 60 Eurowing destinations throughout Europe.
“The new codeshare agreement announced today will further benefit our customers who will now have even more options available to them when connecting through the Eurowings hubs of Dusseldorf, Munich, Manchester and Zurich.”
Subject to regulatory approvals, the new codeshare flights will be progressively made available for booking through Singapore Airlines’ various booking channels.
