The intrepid Shane Boocock has now completed his seven day circumnavigation of the Scottish Highlands where he feasted on salmon, Abroathe smokies (haddock), wild venision and some great pub grub whist sampling more than a few real ales and a nip or two of matured whisky!

Attractions and sites encountered included a lot of ruined castles, some famous Scottish rivers, the odd golf course, a drive down the shores of Loch Ness as well as a fair amount of rugged mountain scenery.

“I’ve also stayed in everything from real castles to B&Bs, guest houses, country manors and self-catering cottages. Now I get to trot around Southern Ireland on another jaunt” . . . some people have all the luck.
