The Grosvenor Arms, London

Following an extensive refurbishment to the ground floor to offer a plethora of opportunities for convivial eating and drink, the beautiful and historic Georgian building The Grosvenor Arms in Shaftesbury will open its doors on 16th September 2013.

Brett Hardy, General Manager, “The Grosvenor Arms is steeped in history and as befits a coaching inn built for hospitality, our team will look after you, whether having an afternoon pot of tea, a pizza with your kids, a private celebratory dinner for twelve or taking the whole place for your wedding.”

Chef, Neil Duffet, previously at Lime Wood, will offer delicious plates of locally sourced produce, particularly fish and game. Neil and his team will offer exciting, inspiring fresh food and seek out the best local suppliers, including an organic butcher, local eggs and dairy, local fruit and vegetables as well as a source of hand-dived scallops and even, beautiful hand-speared plaice. A wood burning pizza oven will appeal on those days when only fresh pizza of vine tomatoes, fresh basil, oregano and buffalo mozzarella will do.

In addition to the relaxed 120-cover restaurant, the new bar and courtyard with glass terrace is the go-to whether for a gin and tonic with fresh cucumber or a peach bellini to start the evening, savouring a Malbec or popping in for a nightcap of Courvosier and coffee.

The 16 spacious, stylish and comfortable rooms at The Grosvenor Arms have been refreshed with new linens and soft furnishings. The Georgian Hotel based in the historic Dorset town of Shaftesbury was the inspiration behind ThomasHardy’s The Duke’s Arms in Jude the Obscure.

The Grosvenor Arms is perfectly located for exploring historic Shaftesbury and the countryside and coastline of Dorset.
