A One Man Quest – Finding Good Accommodation

A bit of a surprise on this trip was just how much apartment style accommodation has been added to the traditional hotel experience across Queensland, and probably other parts of Australia for that matter, in the last ten years or so.

For two nights recently in Townsville I stayed in the Quest Serviced Apartments in Palmer Street, right in the heart of the restaurant, café and bar scene.

The studios are much larger that your average hotel room due to the fact that they offer a full kitchen, large bathroom and laundry with everything supplied except of course your food and drink. Yet I quite enjoyed shopping locally for nibbles to accompany a wee tipple of Aussie red on my deck overlooking the marina . . . beats a hotel lobby bar anytime I reckon.
